IGN reports that Chris Evans has join the cast of “The Night Watchman”, which will star Forest Whitaker as well as Keanu Reeves, who plays an L.A.P.D. detective who gets framed. Evans will play the cop put in charge of the investigation. The movie, set in the much malign world of the L.A.P.D., will be written and directed by David Ayer, who is quickly becoming the go-to guy for “bad cop” movies like “Training Day” and “Harsh Times”. The film will start shooting May 21st in Los Angeles. Chris Evans is a busy boy; besides “The Night Watchman”, he’s got “The Fantastic Four” sequel and “Sunshine” coming in 2007 alone.
