Christopher Eccleston Trades in Doctor Who for “Heroes”

He did what most actors would never do in a million years — Christopher Eccleston, star of the most recent incarnation of the popular “Doctor Who” show over across the Pond, jumped ship after the (very successful) first season of “Doctor Who”! Now Eccleston has resurfaced in the States to join the cast of “Heroes”, which is, bar none, my favorite new show of the season. Anyone who loves comic books or just coolness in general will love this show, and if you haven’t been watching it, you suck. The news comes from TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello, who wrote it in his column here about Eccleston’s impending entry into the show. Although Ausiello didn’t say who Eccleston would be playing, but he’s a pretty big name, so it has to be an important character. Now if only Eccleston will convince fellow “Doctor Who” co-star and all-around babe Billie Piper to follow him…
