Clive Barker On Board “Hellraiser” Remake

Oh dear, the Weinstein Brothers are going to remake “Hellraiser”, and they’ve somehow roped Clive Barker into writing the screenplay. The brainchild of Barker, the “Hellraiser” series started in the ’80s and has spawn seven or eight (I’ve lost count) crappy sequels, all starring Doug Bradley as Pinhead, a hellspawn Cenobite who lives to torture stupid humans. With news of the remake, Barker has come on board, saying this on his website: “They’re going to remake Hellraiser One with a lot more money and they’ve invited me to write it - the invitation came from Bob Weinstein - which I am going to do, on the basis that if I don’t do it, it will be done in some way that I probably won’t like!” Very true, Clive. He’ll be writing the script, but not directing, but he will be producing it, which hopefully will mean no stupid Teen Horror Movie cliches. Hopefully.
