You know, I kind of feel bad for Dog Chapman. You’re not exactly talking about a very educated guy here. Everything this dude got, he got it through sweat and blood, and to see it all be taken from him just because he called a black woman a racist name in a private phone conversation with his son, who turned around and betrayed him and sold the tape to a tabloid — man, you know, you kinda feel bad for the guy. Here’s Dog’s apology: “My sincerest, heartfelt apologies go out to every person I have offended for my regrettable use of very inappropriate language. I am deeply disappointed in myself for speaking out of anger to my son and using such a hateful term in a private phone conversation.”
A&E, the cable network that runs Dog’s TV reality show “Dog the Bounty Hunter”, was not moved, and after previously suspending production on the show, has now removed the show completely from its schedule. That means you won’t be seeing Dog on TV for a while — unless it’s apologizing to black people everywhere over and over and over again ala Imus.
Says A&E about pulling Dog:
“In evaluating the circumstances of the last few days, A&E has decided to take Dog The Bounty Hunter off the network’s schedule for the foreseeable future,” A&E said in prepared statement. “We hope that Mr. Chapman continues the healing process that he has begun.”
You screwed up, bra, but I kinda feel sorry that you’re going to lose everything because your son sold you out. That’s gotta sting more than losing the show and the fame. Damn. His son sold him out. Ouch.
