Marvel Studios has set a June 27th 2008 date for the release of “The Incredible Hulk”, the sequel to Ang Lee’s damn cool (but criminally underappreciated) “Hulk” movie. This time around the helmer is French fry Louis Leterrier (”The Transporter” films) and the scripter Zak Penn (”X-Men 3″), and there really isn’t any indication if this is going to be a direct sequel to Ang Lee’s movie, or a prequel, as is the popular trend nowadays. Or something entirely different. In fact, the press release (here) by Marvel doesn’t say a whole lot about the origins of “The Incredible Hulk”, which is a real mystery. I’m guessing they will be “re-imagining” it, since Lee’s film was considered, on the whole, a commercial flop.
