Geek Love: Top 10 Comic Book Movie Babes, Part 1

Some took a major chance by slipping on the leotard (or in some cases, took off the clothes) for their role, and others, well, it was supposed to be a major break that never materialized into one. However it turned out, if you were a comic book fan and always fantasized what your favorite comic book babes would look like in flesh and blood and played by a named actress, then this Geek Love list is for you. And we’re not going to cheat, too. No videogame heroines like Lara Croft or Charlize Theron as Aeon Flux. Just comic book movie hotties. Here, then, are our Top 10 Comic Book Movie Babes, starting with #10…

#10: Jessica Alba as Sue Storm (”Fantastic Four”)

Yes, you nearly peed your pants when you found out Jessica Alba, she of the pouting lips and nice booty, was playing a scientist with — gasp! — smarts. I mean, come on. Anyways, Jessica did feel out that blue uniform pretty nicely, and that’s enough to earn her a spot at #10.

#9: Emmanuelle Vaugier as Painkiller Jane (”Painkiller Jane” TV Movie)

The Sci Fi Channel really blew it when they replaced Emmanuelle Vaugier, who played Painkiller Jane in the movie, with Kristanna Loken, who replaced her in the TV series. Now I’m not saying Loken is chop liver, but she ain’t Emmanuelle Vaugier.

#8: Kelly Hu as Lady Deathstrike (”X-Men 2″)

Just to show you how lame Hollywood is, they cast the gorgeous Kelly Hu as Lady Deathstrike in “X-Men 2″, but they didn’t even bother to give her any lines. (Or at least, I don’t remember Kelly’s character having any lines.) And the best action scene in the movie was, hands down, the one-on-one badass fight between Lady Deathstrike and Wolverine. Killer claws, baby!

#7: Famke Janssen as Jean Grey (”X-Men” films)

If it seems like Famke Janssen keeps appearing in our Geek Love column, I can assure you that it’s purely coincidental. It’s not my fault that Famke seems to have been in a lot of movies that geeks really dig. Here’s Famke at #7 as Jean Grey in the “X-Men” films.

#6: Rebecca Romijn as Mystique (”X-men” films)

Most people would probably have Rebecca Romijn, as the blue-skinned Mystique, somewhere higher on this list, but we have her in the middle of the pack. While Rebecca is undoubtedly a hot woman, that whole blue thing just ruins it for us for some reason. I think we just don’t like blue all that much.
