Let’s face it, when it comes to Sarah Silverman, we’re talking about a combination of girl-next door cuteness and just pure, unadulterated vulgarity spewing forth unrelentlessly from a sewer. The girl is as cute as she is vicious. And when presented with the opportunity to eviscerate someone and get a laugh out of it, Sarah Silverman is there like white on rice come hell or high water. #5. Sarah Silverman Sleeps With, and Then Dumps God
This is funny, and really should be higher on the list, but since it’s part of a scripted show, and Sarah didn’t do it off-the-cuff, I have to put it at the bottom at #5. In an episode of “The Sarah Silverman Program”, her show on Comedy Central, Sarah Silverman (playing Sarah Silverman) has sex with God (who is, of course, black), and then promptly dumps him when he asks her for his number in the morning. Hilarious.
#4. Sarah Silverman: “Joe Franklin Raped Me”
This is one of the reasons why Sarah is great: she can do things on the fly without batting an eye. Here, she’s featured in the documentary “The Aristocrats”, doing her version of the joke (if you don’t know the joke, you should watch “The Aristocrats”, it’s hilarious). Then, all of a sudden, she starts talking about Joe Franklin, a former radio and TV show host. Then her voice starts to trail off, as if she’s remembering all bad memories, before she turns to the camera and, totally serious, says, “Joe Franklin raped me.”
#3. Sarah Silverman Loves Chinks
Hey, Rosie O’Donnell did it, and she was a big fat idiot who didn’t even know she was insulting Chinese people everywhere. When Sarah Silverman did it, she did it as a joke, for a laugh, and knew what she was doing. What’s worst? Um, the ignorant fat pig, of course. Sarah was trying to be funny, and you can’t blame a girl for trying. Here’s Sarah defending her “I love chinks” joke on Niteline. Yes, friggin’ Niteline. How awesome is it that Niteline featured her and begged her to re-tell the joke on the air?
#2. Sarah Silverman Rips Paris Hilton at the 2007 MTV Movie Awards
She knew it was going to happen, but she went anyway. That’s Paris Hilton for you. Days from turning herself into the cops for her jail sentence, Paris Hilton was so “traumatized” by the idea that she went to the MTV Movie Awards. Yep. And it just so happened that Sarah Silverman was hosting that day. You knew it was coming, we all did, but we weren’t sure if she would have the guts to go through with it. But this is Sarah Silverman we’re talking about, and the rest is MTV Movie Awards history. And Paris’ reaction to the insults — and before that, to the phrase, “In a couple of days Paris Hilton is going to jail” by the crowd? — PRICELESS.

Sarah Silverman Gets Punched in the Face in “Way of the Gun” Bar none, the greatest Sarah Silverman moment I’ve ever seen, comes early in the Christopher McQuarrie’s crime movie “Way of the Guy” (in fact, it’s the opening scene). It has the two main characters, played by Benicio Del Toro and Ryan Phillippe, getting yelled at by a foul-mouth woman (yes, played by Silverman, how did you guess?), which results in Toro and Phillippe walking up to Silverman and punching her in the face. I bet Paris Hilton wishes she could have done this…
