Hong Kong superstar Stephen Chow’s latest, “A Hope”, will be getting its North American release through Columbia Pictures Film Production Asia. “A Hope” is a special effects heavy comedy about a poor Chinese laborer who is made to learn some of life’s important lessons when his son gets a strange new pet, reports Variety. I think the “pet” is supposed to be an alien or something. Anyways, it’s been nearly 3 years since Chow gave the world the martial arts extravaganza “Kung Fu Hustle”, and in 2008, he’ll be writing and directing “Kung Fu Hustle 2″ and, in all likelihood, net enough money from that single project to buy half of Hong Kong.
