Wow, talk about a Geeks Galore bloodbath. First Joss Whedon, King Geek himself, leaves the Wonder Woman movie, then David Goyer, Comic Book Movie King himself, leaves the Flash movie, and now JJ Abrams, the Wacky TV Show Guy, has left the director’s chair of the long-planned Star Trek prequel movie. This from Latino Review: “JJ Abrams has left the “Star Trek XI” directors seat. Instead, he is going to direct “Cloverfield,” ironically enough, for Paramount. Another amicable parting it seems.”. Oh well. So no scenes of a young Spock and Kirk putting on red wigs and battling smoky monsters on an island? Bummer.
Although Abrams has always said that he planned to pursue the adventures of a young Kirk and Spock, I’d personally rather see the adventures of a young Seven of Nine and T’Pol, aka Jeri Ryan and Jolene Blalock. Here are some reasons why you should agree with me:
