Johnnie To, Tsui Hark and Ringo Lam Directs “Triangle”

Who thought something like this could ever happen? What we have here are three of the best Hong Kong directors in the known universe, joining forces to direct 30 minutes each of the same movie, titled “Triangle”. The Milky Way-produced film is budgeted at $5 million and stars Louis Koo, Simon Yam, Sun Honglei and Kelly Lin. Here’s what Variety said about the film and how it’ll work: The three agreed on very basic rules: segments of 30 minutes each, one seamless story and each director writes his script after he sees what was produced before him — whether a script or film. Because it was Tsui’s concept, he had the honor of going first, To said. Lam followed, and To finished the story. Story concerns three desperate friends who are given an opportunity to find buried treasure by a mysterious stranger.
