Is it just me, or does it seem like everyone who is an ex-beauty pageant ends up with some semblance of a career once their beauty reign is over EXCEPT American beauty queens? I can name on one hand the number of ex-beauty queens that have managed a career post-crowning, and that’s basically just Vanessa Williams (the pretty one, not the one with the dreadlocks). So here’s Veruska Ramirez, our Latin Flavor of the day, a former Miss Venezuela who has parlayed her beauty pageant win into a successful modeling career. Veruska almost won, too, coming in second in the Miss Universe pageant in 1998 only to Miss Trinidad and Tobago. She’ll always be number one in our book, though.
