Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, whose new movie is the Mark Wahlberg sniper action flick “Shooter”, is hinting that he wants his star to work with him again — this time on the live-action “G.I. Joe” movie. I was never that big of a fan of the cartoon, although I’m sure I owned all of the toys, especially Snake Eyes and his Cobra counterpart, Storm Shadow. I love me some ninjas! And since the producer wants him to do it, Wahlberg has also apparently agreed. IESB said this: “Following up with Mark after our talk with Lorenzo, he basically confirmed himself playing Duke and working with Lorenzo again. ‘You know what, I’ll do whatever Lorenzo wants me to do; it really depends on the script, obviously, but it’s a cool idea. He says it’s going to be kick ass, so yeah. But he’s already putting that out there, so who knows. He knows how to get me to say ‘yes.’”
Whoa. Mark Wahlberg as Duke in “G.I. Joe”. I guess it could work.
IESB goes on:
The movie is said to be set before the rise of the COBRA organization, the film will show how the man the world will one day call Cobra Commander created his terrorist organization and honed it into a worldwide threat. Other COBRA characters, such as Destro and Stormshadow, are being planned to be included in the film. As for who is on the JOE team, look for appearances by the team’s main players, such as Duke, Hawk and Snake Eyes.
Just as long as there’s a badass martial arts dual (or two) between Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow, then I’m there.

Snake Eyes vs. Storm Shadow. WHO YA GOT?
