In a recent interview, Monica Bellucci said that the director of her latest movie, the science fiction thriller “The Stone Council” wanted an “ordinary and less Mediterranean” main character, so she tried her best to “look plain”. Now, in case you’ve been living under a rock, you know that Monica Bellucci is anything but plain. This is, easily, one of the most beautiful woman in and out of cinema. So yeah, I’m a little skeptical that Monica, even at 42, can play “plain”. But hey, she is a good actress, so we’ll see.
In “The Stone Council”, Monica Bellucci plays a mother whose son is kidnapped by a mysterious organization led by the cold Catherine Deneuve. I’m guessing, since this is some kind of science fiction film, that they’ll be harvesting the kid’s organs or cloning him or something sci-fi techie like that. The movie is based on a novel by Jean-Christophe GrangĂ©, who also did “Empire of the Wolves” and “The Crimson Rivers”.
