“Resident Evil: Extinction” is the third installment in the popular horror videogame turned successful movie franchise. In fact, it’s probably the most successful videogame-to-movie transfer that I can think of. (”Street Fighter” coming in a close second, of course. And by “close second” I of course mean it sucks major balls.) Best of all, “Extinction” has managed to bring back its original star, Milla Jovovich, who once again assays the role of Alice. This time Alice is in the Nevada desert getting ready to take out the Umbrella corporation. Read on…
Here’s the full synopsis:
Alice, now in hiding in the Nevada desert, once again joins forces with Carlos Olivera and L.J., along with new survivors Claire, K-Mart and Nurse Betty to try to eliminate the deadly virus that threatens to make every human being undead…and to seek justice. Since being captured by the Umbrella Corporation, Alice has been subjected to biogenic experimentation and becomes genetically altered, with super-human strengths, senses and dexterity. These skills, and more, will be needed if anyone is to remain alive.
The film stars Milla Jovovich, Oded Fehr, Mike Epps, Iain Glen, Ali Larter, and is directed by Russell Mulcahy (”Highlander”). The zombies don’t attack until September 21st, 2007, but you can catch the trailer at Yahoo!
