Movie Preview: The Black Dahlia

“The Black Dahlia”, opening this week, is one of those movies that will only do well due to good word of mouth. Let’s face it, no one is interested in a movie about a notorious murder from the “Golden Age” of Hollywood. (Similarly, the Ben Affleck movie “Hollywodland”.) If the film garners some Oscar buzz, then people will take a shot at it, otherwise it’ll drift into theaters and drift out just as fast. Notorious murders are cool and all, but unless there are rumors that Scarlett Johansson gets buck nekkid in this movie, it’s gonna be a dead fish at the box office. But don’t let that stop you from taking the flick in if you’re interested. It opens this Friday.
