Patricia Heaton Returns to TV with “Action News”

Good news from Variety, who reports that Fox has made a 13-episode commitment to “Action News,” the Kelsey Grammer-Patricia Heaton comedy from writers Christopher Lloyd and Steve Levitan. “Action News” will feature Grammer and Heaton as TV journalists and former colleagues who reunite at a local TV station. The series will be an ensemble workplace comedy and, in a rarity these days, a traditional four-camera comedy. Fox nabbed the show after agreeing to pay sister studio 20th Century Fox a license fee of $1.3 million-$1.4 million per episode.

We’re just happy that Patricia Heaton is back on TV. (Now if only someone will nuke the set of “Two and a Half Man”…)
