TV networks are so gosh darn lazy, that sometimes watching them is like watching that fat, slow kid down the block — he just repeats whatever you say, and just follows along like the big dumb ox that he is. But I digress. With the success of shows like “Lost”, TV networks of course offered up a bunch of “Lost”-like shows in 2006. Most of them failed miserably, with only a few notable exceptions (”Heroes”, “Jericho”). Well guess what? TV networks have now come to the realization (i.e. they’re so dumb they grab at anything) that audiences want sci-fi, so they’re going to be bringing out a slew of sci-fi shows for 2007.
Among them will be a new version of “The Bionic Woman”, a World War II time travel show by Steven Spielberg, “Jumper” (which I am assuming will be based on the novels by Steven Gould, and a TV spin-off of the upcoming movie trilogy by Doug Liman), and a show called “Found”, about reincarnation. By the time 2007 arrives, there will no doubt be even more shows hoping to cash in on the current “sci fi craze” started by “Heroes”.
Such is life on network TV. If it seems to work once, keep doing it over and over and over…
