Rachel Weisz Out of MUMMY 3

I guess I should have known rumors that Rachel Weisz was coming back to the third installment in the “Mummy” franchise was somewhat optimistic. We’re talking about Rachel Weisz, who has gone from action-adventure (”The Mummy” films) to Oscar winner (”The Constant Garderner”). It’s kind of hard to go back to fighting CGI mummies (even if the leader of those movies will be Jet Li) after that kind of acting achievement. So it was no surprise when Reuters reported that Weisz had bowed out of the project (to be directed by Rob Cohen), and to star Brendan Fraser once again. I wonder how they’re going to explain her character’s absense. Grave robbing accident, maybe?
