British tart Sienna Miller is in Pittsburgh at the moment to shoot “The Mysteries of Pittsburgh”, and apparently there is no “mystery” what Sienna thinks of the city, if her comments that she hates having to work in “Sh*tsburgh”, as she calls it, to Rolling Stone Magazine is any indication. Complains Miller about having to work in Pittsburgh: “Can you believe this is my life?… Will you pity me when you’re back in your funky New York apartment and I’m still in Pittsburgh? I need to get more glamorous films.”
After the people of Pittsburgh, and its Mayor, got all riled up over her comments, Miller issued a lame apology — re: her PR people at work (source):
“I want to apologize for my comments which seem to have been misconstrued and taken out of context. I was referring to the fact that we are shooting almost all night shoots on this film and none of us have had an opportunity to fully explore the city. What I have seen of it is beautiful. I came once before to visit the Andy Warhol museum whilst researching a film and found both the city and it’s inhabitants warm and gracious. My father is from Meadville and is in town to show me round this weekend. I sincerely apologize and hope people realize that conversations can be easily manipulated in print.”
Oh my. Pittsburgh needs to lighten up. Who gives a crud what some woman, who is more famous for being married to a chronic cheater than an actress, says about your city? You have the Steelers and, er, well, that’s nothing to be proud of, either, I suppose, what with their record of late. Frankly, I would have used “The Pittsburgh” instead of “Sh*tsburgh”, but that’s just me.
