No, seriously. Sony seems to have developed some kind of meglomaniacal plan when it comes to releasing “Spider-Man 3″. The film has already bowed in Asia and parts of Europe to record ticket sales, and will be opening wide in 4,253 theaters across America on Friday, the largest release in history. All this, despite very lukewarm reviews for the film so far. The AP wrote: “Spidey the Third feels like an even greater letdown following Spidey Part Deux, which was the rare sequel that surpassed the original.” But according to Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a 71% approval, with 32 positive reviews and 13 negative reviews among the counted reviewers so far.
“Spider-Man 3″ stars Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Maguire, along with director Sam Raimi, at the Paris premiere of “Spider-Man 3″. I told you these guys were working overtime. Tokyo one day, Paris the next, Queens later. Man, you couldn’t pay me to “travel” that much for a job.
“Spider-Man 3″ opens May 4th, 2007 in the U.S. Meanwhile, check out exclusive clips of the movie at Yahoo! Movies.
