I said I wasn’t going to post anything until after Christmas, but ran across this trailer for “The Kingdom”, and just had to post it. Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner (but mainly Jamie Foxx, going by the trailer) chases a terrorist in Saudi Arabia who plotted the murder of a few 100 Americans on a military base. Ouch. The movie is directed by Peter Berg (”The Rundown”) and looks pretty damn awesome, in a “Rules of Engagement” sort of way. Here’s the thing: I just hope it doesn’t pull the ol “Guv’Ment Conspiracy” angle, i.e. “Mission Impossible III”. I have nothing against Government Conspiracy movies, but come on, I’m starting to get really sick and tired of them. It’s like Hollywood can’t make anything related to terrorism anymore without making it into some generic U.S. Government conspiracy plot.
