The Sci Fi Channel’s Summer Schedule, FLASH GORDON
Let’s face it: as much as I appreciate them for having shows like “The Dresden Files” and the “Stargate SG1″ series on their air, The Sci Fi Channel is known for some pretty craptacular stuff, not least of which are the truly horrendous quality of their “original movies”, i.e. the latest genetic monster/mutant attacks movie of the week. But let’s not focus on the latter and just concentrate on the former — their Summer TV line-up. Read on…
Here’s the line-up (via):
“Flash Gordon” premieres Aug. 10. It puts a 21st-century spin on the SF classic. SCI FI’s contemporized version stars Eric Johnson.
“Destination Truth” debuts June 6 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The one-hour weekly series invites viewers along on one man’s search for the truth while investigating stories of the unexplained across the globe. Josh Gates stars.
The as-yet-untitled Derren Brown Project premieres July 25 at 10 p.m. The series stars British mentalist Derren Brown.
Among returning series, “Ghost Hunters” comes back June 6 at 9 p.m., Doctor Who July 6 at 9 p.m., “Eureka” on July 10 and “Who Wants to Be a Superhero?” July 25 at 9 p.m.
I’m addicted to “Ghost Hunters” for some strange reason, but I could do without the goofy “Eureka” and the even goofier (and really stupid) “Who Wants to be a Superhero?” But hey, to each his own.

Eric Johnson is the new Flash Gordon
