You can’t keep a good penguin down, as the animated “Happy Feet” continues its domination of the U.S. box office over the weekend, hauling in $17 mil for a total of $121 in just three weeks of release. James Bond didn’t do too shabby either, taking in $15 mil for a total of $115 in three weeks of release. Rounding out the top 5 were “Deja Vu” ($11 mil for a total of $44 in two weeks), “The Nativity Story” ($8 mil in its first week), and “Deck the Halls”, starring a drunk on his ass Danny Devito, which brought in $6 mil for a total of $24 mil in two weeks. The week’s two new releases, “Turistas” and “Van Wilder 2″, barely made a dent, while the much ballyhooed “Bobby”, which seemed to get a lot of good reviews if only because Hollywood reviewers can’t bring themselves to diss any movie about the Kennedy family, has scored a paltry $9 mil in 3 weeks.
Here is how the rest of the box office broke down over the weekend:
Happy Feet
Casino Royale
Deja Vu
The Nativity Story
Deck the Halls
The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause
Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan
Turistas
Stranger Than Fiction
National Lampoon’s Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj
Flushed Away
Bobby
