James Bond might have gotten a face little, a lot younger, and tougher around the edges, but he still couldn’t charm or muscle his way to the top of the box office over the weekend. Those pesky animated penguins in “Happy Feet” took the #1 spot with $42 million smackaroos, with Bond coming in a close second with $40 mil. Rounding out the top 5, “Borat” continues his climb to American dominance with $14 mil ($90 mil so far); Tim Allen’s “Santa Clause 3″ ho-ho’s his way to $8 mil ($51 in three weeks); and the other animated flick, “Flushed Away”, took in $6 mil ($48 in three weeks). “Let’s go to Prison” did poorly, coming in at #12 with a meager $2 mil despite the huge PR push.
