James Bond gets a face lift, a couple of years younger, and returns in “Casino Royale”; animated penguins do comedy in “Happy Feet”; and the one alternative this week, the probably-too-adult-even-for-adults comedy “Let’s Go to Prison”, which has got to be the best movie title since “Snakes on a Plane” in a long while. In limited release, Emilio Estevez comes out of his cave to write, direct, and star in “Bobby”, and a ton of other stuff no one will see, including Greg Kinnear in “Fast Food Nation” and Christopher Guest’s adlib-a-thon “For Your Consideration”, starring the scame crew that was in his last 5 movies.
“Casino Royale” is no doubt going to rule the box office for the next couple of weeks, but don’t be surprised if “Happy Feet” packs in the kids and family not looking to see Bond kill more people and bang more babes. Personally, I would go for “Let’s go to Prison”, if just becuase I think the title is so cool, and I like to encourage filmmakers to do different things instead of the same-o Hollywood junk. And really, what’s safer than James Bond and animated penguins? So let’s go to prison, everyone!
