Clint Eastwood goes back to Iwo Jima in “Flags of Our Fathers”, while Batman and Wolverine have a magical grudge match in “The Prestige” (with Scarlett Johansson at stake!), Kirsten Dunst gets infamously semi-nude in Sofia Coppola’s “Marie Antoinette”, while Faith Hilll’s husband plays with horses in the family drama “Flicka”. That’s your choice for the weekend, kids, but if you’re inclined towards more indie fare, narcoleptics are great fun in “20 Centimetres”, Annette Benning does funny in “Running With Scissors”, and Bobcat Goldthwait (!!!) dives into puppy love in the comedy “Sleeping Dogs Lie”.
Without a doubt, the movie you should all be seeing this weekend is Eastwood’s “Flags of Our Fathers”, the harrowing tale of American soldiers on the rocky beaches of Iwo Jima during World War II, and the famous flag raising. See trailers for the film here, and check out stills from the movie below.
