The pissed off mom and her son returns in “The Grudge 2″, a wrestler tries to follow in The Rock’s footsteps in “The Marine”, Robin Williams gets out of rehab and goes into politics in an attempt to be “Man of the Year”, and Xerxes gets some action “One Night With the King” before butting heads with the Spartans at Thermopylae. Four very different movies are yours this weekend, and depending on your taste (comedy? horror? action? historical romance?) you won’t have to choose. In limited release, you can also catch Bond Jr. in “Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker”, another Catholic as Evil Incarnate movie in “Deliver Us From Evil”, or Terry Gilliam’s latest, “Tideland”.
For mindless slambang action, I would go with “The Marine”, as WWE superstar John Cena attempts to tread the ground pioneered by fellow wrestler The Rock. It co-stars the lovely Kelly Carlson and the T1000 himself, Robert Patrick as the heavy. Check out the trailer for the movie:
