Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher play superhero coast guarders, an animated movie about animals voiced by Martin Lawrence and Ashton Kutcher, and Napoleon Dynamite teams up with the drunk baseball coach from the “Bad News Bears” to “do” Ben Stiller. Not exactly the best line-up for the weekend, but if you’re bored, I’d go with “School for Scoundrels”. Should be some guaranteed good laughs there. If you like melodrama and hero stuff, “The Guardian” with Kutcher and Costner should work. For the family and kids out there, “Open Season” is the only game in town.
In limited release, you can catch Mexican gay dudes getting it on in “Broken Sky”, or the high school football movie on a budget “Facing the Giants”. Cokehead Robert Downey Jr. continues his impressive rehab stint with “A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints”, while Forest Whitaker plays a cannibal in “The Last King of Scotland”. There’s nothing worst than getting eaten by Forest friggin Whitaker.
