Via AICN, here’s news that James Cameron has settled on the cast of his new big-budget (and sure to be pioneering) sci-fi movie “Avatar”, and has already shot a couple for a couple of days in the jungle. Besides gorgeous Zoe Saldana and Sigourney Weaver, the cast consists of Peter Mensah, Joel David Moore, C.C.H. Pounder, and Laz Alonso. The stars are Zoe Saldana and an Aussie bloke by the name of Sam Worthington, who no one has ever heard of outside of Australia, but that won’t remain true once “Avatar” hits screens Summer 2009. Yes, you’ll have to wait 2 years to see “Avatar”. Oh well, nothing good comes quickly, right?
The plot of “Avatar”: In the future, Jake (Worthington), a paraplegic war veteran, is brought to another planet, Pandora, which is inhabited by the Na’vi, a humanoid race with their own language and culture. Those from Earth find themselves at odds with each other and the local culture.
