Game of Thrones: It Ain’t No Princess Bride

POTENTIAL SPOILERS BELOW

Anyone who has read George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” novels already knew what type of happy endings (or lack thereof) to expect when the first season of HBO’s uber popular “Game of Thrones” series debuted two years ago. In short: a highly detailed fantasy world where the good guys don’t always win, and the bad guys don’t always lose. Hell, I think over five books, the bad guys actually win more than the good guys! (Or at least, it seems that way.)

But what if you had never read the books and were introduced to the wonderful world of Westeros through the show? I think your reaction might be a little something like this mash-up of “The Princess Bride” and plot points from “Game of Thrones”.

I don’t even wanna imagine Buttercup and Wesley stuck in the “Game of Thrones” world. Who wants to see Prince Humperdinck win and enslave Buttercup? Imagine all the, er, dirty things he’d do to her. (I bet ol George could envision that, though…)

“Game of Thrones” Season 3 commences this March 31st on HBO.
