Looks like an impromptu “Jamie Foxx Show” reunion is taking place on the set of Roland Emmerich’s “Die Hard in the White House” movie “White House Down”, with the lovely Garcelle Beauvais officially signing up to co-star in the action film opposite Jamie Foxx and Channing Tatum.
Beauvais (also known for her stint on “NYPD Blue”) will play the film’s First Lady to Foxx’s President of the United States, with Tatum playing a Secret Service agent in the wrong place at the right time. The right time happens to be when domestic terrorists take over the White House by force, and it’s up to John McClane — er, I mean, Tatum’s character to stop them.
Foxx and Beauvais previously co-starred as love interests on Foxx’s “The Jamie Foxx Show” sitcom, which ran from 1996 to 2001, back when Foxx voluntarily walked around with that wacky looking pencil mustache of his. Beauvais now does a regular gig on the lawer comedy series “Franklin & Bash”.
The ironic thing about casting Beauvais is that I don’t even recall if the First Lady shows up in the script for “White House Down” at all. It was almost entirely Foxx and Tatum’s characters running away from bad guys in the White House and shooting up the lawn.
“White House Down” is scheduled to shoot in Montreal this Fall.
