George Romero Wants to Remake his Season of the Witch
Horror Movie News, Season of the Witch (George Romero Remake) Movie — By Nix on August 3, 2007
Here’s one news of an old horror movie remake that fanboys won’t be able to get their panties into a bunch about — George A. Romero, king of the zombies, wants to remake his 1971 horror movie “Season of the Witch”, also known as “Hungry Wives”. The movie follows a suburban housewife who turns to tarot cards for a reading, then becomes drawn into a world of witchcraft. Don’t you hate it when that happens?
“I’ve always felt that it’s not really a complete work,” Romero said about Witch at the recent Los Angles Comic-Con.
“We sort of managed to get a rope around it and finish it in a halfway decent way, but it’s the only one that I’d like to redo.”
I’ve never seen the movie, and haven’t heard it being heralded as a horror classic, so a remake shouldn’t piss off too much people. And for those who do get ticked, well, the guy who did it wants to redo it, so what’s your problem?

Regarding Season of the witch by George A. Romero.Could someone forward this to George.I think Jordan would be great in the lead. Also i feel the story is very contemporary, given the somewhat superficial nature of life in the 20th century/millenium.Amodern statement on witches, woman and crap husbands with witchcraft and its timeless appeal very much to the fore.Incidentally i felt the original had a wonderful feel, the sound in particular i adore.Hate to see it finish up just another picture
