Check out a new featurette for 2000AD’s sci-fi actioner “Dredd” that focuses on the movie’s drug of choice, Slo-Mo, and just what it took to make it happen onscreen. Hint: it looks better in 3D, but then again, I’m sure the filmmakers have no ulterior motive to tell you that. As for Slo-Mo, it’s groovy. But remember kids, don’t do drugs! Unless it’s Slo-Mo. I mean, look at this thing! It’s awesome! (But seriously though, kids, don’t do drugs. Drugs are bad. Mmmkay?)
The future America is an irradiated waste land. On its East Coast, running from Boston to Washington DC, lies Mega City One–a vast, violent metropolis where criminals rule the chaotic streets. The only force of order lies with the urban cops called “Judges” who possess the combined powers of judge, jury and instant executioner. Known and feared throughout the city, Dredd (Karl Urban) is the ultimate Judge, challenged with ridding the city of its latest scourge–a dangerous drug epidemic that has users of “Slo-Mo” experiencing reality at a fraction of its normal speed.
Starring Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby, Lena Headey, Jason Cope, Langley Kirkwood, Kevon Kane, Joe Vaz, Warrick Grier, Scott Sparrow, Luke Tyler, and directed by Pete Travis.
Arriving September 21, 2012.
