I just saw today the new CC toy for the upcoming movie and I’m tempted not to even go see the movie now. When I heard who was playing CC, I was skeptical to say the least, but now that I’ve seen more of the D6A suit in action and now the CC toy, I just can’t suspend disbelief THAT much. So overall, I went from expecting this movie to be acceptable to being….well, crap. Gah, can’t we stop people from making bad adaptations of decent shows and comics….

Niko–you have it right. CC was just a whiny little dude with delusions of grandeur. He was basically Starscream from Transformers in the old cartoon.

I believe they capture Snake Eyes at one point, remove his mask and torture him. I think I still have that issue. No one knows who he is at Cobra.

He had a relationship with Stormshadow, but I can’t remember what it was.

I love how they’ve removed “Real American Hero”, just like they took out “Truth, Justice and the American Way” from Superman. Let’s all be ashamed of America.

Cobra Commander, if you read the story, was actually never really that bad ass. He was anything but confrontational and could never really defend himself without some sort of help. He was badass in emotions and sheer determination to succeed… but not a scary guy at all. Half of his best men were twice his size.

Incorrect. According to the comic books (I have the entire series…)

Cobra Commander and Snake-Eyes have no association. They never explain Cobra Commander’s mask obsession other than identity. In the earlier comics, they do many flashback so of CC and even show him wearing disguises… with no facial damage at all. We assume something happened later.

Snake’s face was damaged on a rescue mission in the middle east. Snake-Eyes, Scarlett, Rock ‘n Roll and Grunt were sent to save George Strawhacker – George was once Snake’s twin sister’s fiance. He felt only he could save him. Even after the explosion onboard the rescue chopper (which disfigured Snake’s face and left him mute), Snake-Eyes covered his burnt face and continued with the mission.

Cobra Commander was not even remotely a part of the party involved. He was likely home plotting someone’s demise or eating coco puffs.

In the movie Duke is new to the Joes, and both he and the commander to be are former special forces soldiers. I’m sure Duke’s scar and CC disfiguration go hand in hand. Joseph Gordon Levitt doesn’t look like the kid from 3rd Rock from the SUn anymore, he’s grwon up rpetty much, and he’s gonna look pretty damned horrorfying.

Hey I was looking for whos going to be Cobra Commander n i have to say when i found it was this guy i was very dissapointed…he just doesnt even look like a bad guy, but yeah mebe theyl just use him in flashbacks when they were kids, cos hes just far to young and just not twisted enough…need to be able to do the voice too. Isnt CC taller as well as older….if hes the actual CC n theres no flashbacks this movies gonna suuuuuck. I was looking for trailers and they should just make cobra as twisted as these guy. Cobra was Dan’s best friend, brother to Snake-Eyes. Dan was killed in crash that left Snake’s face horribly scared and probably Cobra’s due to fact he keeps his covered at all times too. Both suffer deeply over the death of Dan and out of anger Cobra is more likely to try and kill Snake-Eyes or his loved ones in order to get back at the fact that he is alive and not Dan.

well think about it this way… perhaps he will play duke’s best friend in flashbacks when they were younger and fighting in wars together. And now grown older he could just wear the mask the whole time so you wont really be able to tell his age. I think it could be hidden easily and pulled off.
