Gigandet and Henney. That’s the name of a wacky TV show law firm if I’ve ever heard one. “Gigandet and Henney! We specialize in representing the downtrodden and other assorted eccentric personalities!” That, or a superhero team-up. Either/or.
Anyways, according to the Tracking Board (via Filmdrunk), two names have been attached to Warner Bros.’ upcoming “Point Break” remake — Cam Gigandet, formerly of “Priest”, and Daniel Henney, formerly of “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”.
No word on which one of the film’s two main roles the two hunky hunks with hunky bodies are being rumored for, but since they’re about the same age, I’m guessing the FBI agent Johnny Utah, formerly played by Keanu Reeves in the Kathryn Bigelow original. I don’t see either actor doing a very good Bodhi, as played by Patrick Swayze in the original.
That having been said, I would be shocked if the Asian guy got the job. Hollywood likes to pretend they’re open-minded in terms of race when it comes to casting, but let’s face it, they’re really not. (The white-washing of “Akira”, anyone?)
One thing’s for sure: Kurt Wimmer is writing this sucker for WB.
