She picked up the accent while she lived in London as a kid, but she's been back in the States (where she was born) for longer than she lived in England. Fact is, some actors and actresses are just better at doing accents than others. Jane Seymour's never managed to affect a convincing American accent, despite doing Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman for 5 years and working on U.S. productions for longer than that. I'm drawing a blank right now, but there is an English actress who does such a convincing American accent that I didn't even realize at first that she was English. Some are able to do accents without ever having lived in the country whose accent they are imitating. She is a really good actress and it is sad that she wastes her talent on such a piece of boring trash. She really needs to be more choosy on what movies to take part in. She has a sense of class, from what I gather on her website, and she needs to be true to that part of herself. Her British accent in this movie, however, is what made me research her. Very good.
