Hmm, let me see — three attractive, grown women and three boorish men with hunting rifles on an isolated island, then a campfire argument over sex … yes, this will not end well. At all. And so it doesn’t in director/co-star Katie Aselton’s “Black Rock”, which goes to show you that when a woman drapes herself all over you and then wants to jump your bones in the woods, that doesn’t mean, well, she really wants to jump your bones. Or something like that. I’m confused. The bad guys in the movie are apparently crazed military vets. Crazed military vets that can’t take No for an answer, that is. Girl power!
Three childhood friends set aside their personal issues and reunite for a girls’ weekend on a remote island off the coast of Maine. One wrong move turns their weekend getaway into a deadly fight for survival.
Also starring Lake Bell and Kate Bosworth as the other two women, with Will Bouvier, Jay Paulson, and Anslem Richardson representing the evil men contingent.
Fighting back May 17th, 2013.
