Find out what it took to make (and the inspiration behind) South Korean director Joon-ho Bong’s English-language debut, the sci-fi post-apocalyptic “Snowpiercer”, in 4 behind-the-scenes making-of featurette for the movie. They feature interviews with the cast and crew (also English-subtitles for the director and his Korean stars), and reveals just exactly how big that train they’re reading around on for the movie is. In a word, it’s pretty damn big. Yes, they built an actual train that’s about 400 meters long (around 430 yards, give or take).

Set in a future where a failed experiment to stop global warming creates an ice age that kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. A class system evolves on the train, but a revolution brews.

“Snowpiercer” stars Chris Evans, Jamie Bell, Kang-ho Song, John Hurt, Ed Harris and Tilda Swinton.

Look to board the train sometime this year.
