God of War Ascension Game

The gaming world has what they call announcement trailers, which are basically the teaser trailer equivalent of movie trailers. You don’t usually see a whole lot, but it’s the developer’s official announcement that the game is coming, and maybe you might get a glimpse of what it’ll be about. That’s pretty much what you get in this announcement trailer for the Playstation-exclusive “God of War: Ascension”.

The most ambitious God of War adventure in the series so far, God of War: Ascension takes us right back to where it all began. Discover the origins of Kratos as he takes his first steps on a now legendary quest for freedom and vengeance.

Sounds like this is a prequel to the “God of War” games. I can dig it. I’ve always loved these Greek-centric stories, movies and games, and the previous three “God of War” games had a lot of charm. Destructive, crazy, carnage-filled charm.

It’ll be a while yet before you can get ahold of Kratos again (2013 or thereabouts). Until then, check out the official announcement trailer:

AWESOME!!! I knew GOW3 couldn’t be it!! Granted I wasn’t expecting a prequel, but this is cool. I kinda want another trilogy. One that takes the stuff from the PSP games and fills in more gaps. The first PSP game took place between 1 and 2 and the second between 2 and 3. Give me a trilogy that takes place before one but weaves in some of his brother’s story too.
