Just in time for Comic Con, check out a new, really big poster for “Monsters” director Gareth Edwards’ “Godzilla”, which gives you the scope of this bad boy. In a word, he’s HUGE. Unless, of course, he’s not all that big, and those helicopters buzzing around him are just toys. Then, well, he’s not so scary, I guess.
Of course, I’ve already been burned by one monster movie already (I’m looking at you, “Pacific Rim”), so here’s hoping Edwards’ “Godzilla” at least has a story that isn’t recycled from a gazillion movies in-between all those sure-to-be awesome moments of the big G stomping the crap out of the planet. One can only hope, right?
Plot details are scarce, but I suspect it’ll include a big giant monster wreaking havoc and the U.S. Government trying to blow it up. Call me crazy, but that’s what I’m going with until I hear different.
“Godzilla” will star puny humans Aaron Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn, Ken Watanabe, Richard T. Jones, Sally Hawkins, and is set to stomp into a theater near you next year, May 16, 2014.
In case you missed it, here’s the previously released Comic Con poster:
