Goofy Little Teaser Trailer for the Horror/Comedy Ghost Sweepers (aka The Fortune Tellers)

“Chaw” director Sin Jeong-won’s upcoming horror/comedy “Ghost Sweepers” (aka “The Fortune Tellers”) looks pretty darned silly. And not just silly — cutesy silly. Now, I don’t necessarily have a problem with this sort of South Korean comedy, though I can understand how this sort of bubbly confection might not be everyone’s cup of tea. The latest trailer certainly plays up the picture’s inherent goofiness, and while I should be put off by this, I’m going to give the flick the benefit of the doubt until a proper trailer arrives.

This is what the flick is about:

Chan-young, a young journalist, is sent to cover a story when all the top shamans from nationwide gather up for a grand exorcism at a small village notorious for dark rumors about an evil spirit. They barely manage to even enter the village for this evil spirit is unlike anything anyone has seen so far. The group of shamans begins their grand ritual, but with the strange eerie force that dominates the entire village and repeated attacks by the spirit, most of the shamans run for their lives. Only five best shamans remain along with Chan-young. So the six begin to explore the dark secrets of the village while preparing for the biggest battle against the evil forces.

“Ghost Sweepers” and its band of wacky characters begin their cinematic investigation later this year. When you’ve prepared yourself for the ensuing increase to your cinematic blood sugar levels, take a look at the trailer below.

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at) beyondhollywood.com.

Not yet. The teaser just arrived this weekend. As soon as I find a theatrical trailer, I’ll write up something about it.
