Gore Verbinski’s $100 Million Animated Film
Untitled Gore Verbinski Animation (2010) Movie — By Nix on February 21, 2008 |
Not content to make three films that were as close to animation without actually being animation (i.e. the “Pirates of the Caribbean” films), Gore Verbinski has now decided to leap head-first into real animation — and he’s got $100 million buckaroos to play with. John Logan, who last penned “Sweeney Todd”, will write the script.

The action-adventure film, based on an undisclosed idea developed by Verbinski’s Blind Wink Prods. and producer John B. Carls, has a projected budget in the $100 million range and a targeted 2010 release. Screenwriter John Logan (”Sweeney Todd”) is in talks to pen the film with future sequels in mind.
I never know how to react to these movie announcement where the film has no title as yet. How exactly do you give someone $100 million when he can’t even figure out the title of the movie yet? It’s not like he already knows the title; he still hasn’t even written the bloody thing, and doesn’t know enough to slap a title on it!
But then again, I’m a guy with an internet connection, and Gore Verbinski is Gore Verbinski.
