Director Kimble Rendall’s “Bait” is ludicrous. The premise has a bunch of people trapped in a grocery store during a storm that floods the joint and, probably, half the coast. And oh, they’re trapped along with the guy who was robbing the joint at the time. Plus, killer sharks have been washed ashore along with the storm and are now trapped in the grocery store with them. So, when you consider that premise, this gory and bloody Red Band clip seems perfectly at home, doesn’t it? And oh, it’s apparently also in 3D. The better to see those snappy sharp teeth, I reckon.
When a monstrous freak tsunami hits a sleepy beach community, a group of survivors from different walks of life find themselves trapped inside a submerged grocery store. As they try to escape to safety, they soon discover that there is a predator among them more deadly than the threat of drowning—vicious great white sharks lurking in the water, starved hungry for fresh meat. As the bloodthirsty sharks begin to pick the survivors off one by one, the group realizes that they must work together to find a way out without being eaten alive!
“Bait” stars Xavier Samuel, Phoebe Tonkin, Sharni Vinson and Julian McMahon.
The only way you’ll be able to catch this crazy shark goodness in theaters is if you request it via Tugg. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for the goofy DVD/VOD release.
