The last time we heard about any movement on the “Green Lantern” movie, it was last year, when Warner Bros. assigned Everwood guy Greg Berlanti to write and direct the movie. Well, that was last year. We haven’t heard a thing about the movie since, although we did hear about the character, who was supposed to take part in the now-defunct “Justice League” movie. The latest (re: only) news from the movie is from Production Weekly, which lists the film as currently in “development”, with Berlanti still attached to write, but not direct.
STATUS – Development
PRODUCER: Donald De Line – Andrew Haas WRITER: Greg Berlanti – Marc Guggenheim – Michael J Green

Each sector of space is protected by a Green Lantern, possessing a power ring that uses a powerful green energy to do anything within the limits of the user’s imagination and will power. When the Green Lantern assigned to this sector of space finds himself dying on planet Earth, he tells the ring to find a suitable successor. The chosen replacement, hot-shot test pilot Hal Jordan, finds himself with a new job he never expected.
So, Hal Jordan, huh? That’s probably the way to go. There were some rumors, especially in regards to the Justice League movie, that GL would be John Stewart. Going back to the character’s roots is really the way to go if they were intent on making this thing the right way.
