Green Lantern Clip and Featurette Takes You to Oa

Ol Hal Jordan, he ain’t knowin’ what he’s doing. Luckily for him, he’s the cocky test pilot type, so he’ll get along just fine. Check out your first clip and a behind-the-scenes featurette on the making of the planet Oa from Warner Bros.’ “Green Lantern”, featuring Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan arriving on the planet of Oa for the first time.

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan. Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

Co-starring Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Temuera Morrison, Jenna Craig, Jon Tenney, Tim Robbins, Angela Bassett, Taika Cohen, Jeff Wolfe, Michael Clarke Duncan, and directed by Martin Campbell.

Book your trip to Oa June 17, 2011.

Finished cg and new footage make all the difference.

True, although I still think Kilowog and the Guardians look incredibly fake and too CGI’ish.

I know I complain too much, but it bothers my eyes. I wanted for Kilowog skin looks like I’m near an animal and (almost) feel the touch of it because of the texture or something.

Still very hard to do in this day and age. I mean this is really as good as it’s going to get in brght lighting. The shadows will help though.

You know what could have help?. They should cast Michael Clark Duncan from the begining and make what they did with Gollum, wich was a combination of Motion Caption (for the body movement and shadows), and Frame by Frame CGI for face expressions.

That worked in LOTR. I hope they do that for the sequel.

The motion capture I think they did for all the majore corps members like Hal, Sinestro, Kilawog, and Tomar. But yeah the face expressions definitely woulda been greta had they done it like they did in that and Incredible Hulk. However applying human facial expression to alien physiology creates issues in itself.
            Sent on the go.
