Many were considered for the female lead in “Green Lantern”, starring Ryan Reynolds as the ring bearer Hal Jordan, including Keri Russell, Jennifer Garner and Eva Green. It appears that according to the Hollywood Reporter, Blake Lively (Gossip Girls)  has secured the role of Carol Ferris (Star Sapphire), the masked man’s main squeeze. Blake was last seen in movies in “The Private Lives Of Pippa Lee” and will be seen soon in the Ben Affleck directed “The Town”.

Finally, an actress hot enough to play a comic book hero’s girlfriend; the lovely Ms. Mendes notwithstanding. A bit young and blonde for the older, brunette Carol Ferris, but she should do a good job…and at last look spectacular doing it.

Ah but they’re having Ryan Reynolds playing Hal so it evens out on the age thing. I’m sure they’re gonna dye her hair. And I’m sure she’ll look stunning as a brunette. Now they really ned to cast Hugo Weaving as Sinestro and call it a day.

Agreed with the Hugo Weaving bit. That would be the best thing since sliced bread.

Thanks. I watch GL:First Flight alot and Victor Garber (Alias) did an amazing job voicing the character, but all I could think of was Hugo Weaving as Agent Smith and how perfect he’d be. The look, the arrogance. PERFECT!!
