Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters Game Trailer

Before Ryan Reynolds slips on the alien suit to battle evil in outer space, he’ll be fighting robots in outer space in the “Green Lantern” movie tie-in game, “Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters”. First trailer for the game below, due out on all platforms June 7, 2011, 10 days before the movie hits theaters. Like most movie tie-in games, good money says it’ll probably be lackluster and only for diehard fans.

The Manhunters are an android race, originally created by the Guardians of the Universe to serve as the first interstellar police force. The Manhunters became more obsessed with administering punishment than serving justice, forcing the Guardians to dissolve their ranks. The few Manhunters that survived fled into exile and the Guardians founded a new elite police force called the Green Lantern Corps and armed its members with specially crafted power rings. Now the Manhunters are back and out for revenge, readying their forces for a war against the Guardians and the Green Lantern Corps. Faced with destruction, the Corps is looking to you as the newest recruit, gifted but cocky test pilot Hal Jordon, to protect peace and preserve justice. Building on the anticipation of Warner Bros.’ feature film Green Lantern, in theaters June 17, 2011, Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters includes the likeness and voice talent of Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, who is the star of the upcoming motion picture.

Not bad. I’m hoping this breaks the pattern of movie tie-in games. Hoping it’s as good as the “X-men:Origins Wolverine” game was but the movie is better. That was the exact opposite. Great game, crappy movie. i’m hoping this ends up bucking the trend and not falling into that one either.

I’m actually thought that this trailer looked better than the movie trailer. Lol. I’m thinking that it’s gonna be XMOW all over again!

Not digging Kilowog’s cliche voice and attitude…mind you I’m not up to snuff on GL source material so that could very well be the character.
I don’t know all these superhero or comic book movies (and games/movie tie-in games) have made me so tired of the same cliche characters, bad guys, and everything else they all have. I’m longing for more original content.

Looks good, but thats just it. This is CG, its all looks theres no substance as in gameplay…

Great observation SmokinB. No gameplay, and at this point, if its suppose to come out with the movie. That’s a bad sign in the game world. I need to see gameplay though before I start giving my opinion.
