Half-Naked Superhero Chick’s Director Confirmed

Well ain’t this cute. Over a month and change after the boys at Bloody-Disgusting broke the news that Everett De Roche will write the screenplay for, and Battlestar Galactica vet Michael Rhymer will direct Top Cow’s comic book movie “Witchblade”, Variety has finally gotten around to confirming Rhymer as director. It deserves mentioning that Variety was beaten to the punch by nearly a month and a half by Bloody-Disgusting, and in their article Variety has nothing new to add.

Wow. Are we seeing the changing of the guards here? Have movie sites like Bloody-Disgusting (which as far as I can tell is written by one guy or two, or dozen, even) becoming more “in the know” than even mega trades like Variety and The Hollywood Reporter and their staff of hundreds? Who knows, but it is certainly getting interesting out there…

And oh yeah, I guess this means they’re actually making a Witchblade movie. Didn’t see THAT coming. Now if they can only get someone with a really nice body to fill out that barely-outfit. Did I mention that Witchblade is almost always half-naked…? God Bless you, horny comic book artist.
