I fell upon this website searching my grandfathers name and thought I should let you know that he, William Cullen, passed away this past Veterans Day 2009. He was an incredible man and a hero to anyone who knew him. His stories of Peleliu will remain in our minds and hearts forever. Looking forward to your movie, we will all go see it in honor of Papa!

The escape tunnel was man-made and took twenty minutes to go through, with 275 Japanese officers on Peleliu in September 15th 1944,and the Japanese not wanting the Americans to have the family Heritage Samurai swords, I would believe that tunnel has a secret room or cache for a treasure the japanese would pay thousands of dollars for.““““““

Hanks and Spielberg: Peleliu History says Japenese had no escape route from bloody nose ridge.I was guarding the escape route into ravine and swamp.Eight vollunteers. I Went through first scout/sniper school West coast”Green’s Farm” Many Marines lives were saved when we stopped them in deep ravine.Change Peleliu History Man-made tunnel took twenty minutes to go through entrance was S/W of hill 210. Robert V.
