I just saw the flick and agree with heyhey. Harrison played an old resourceful, creative, Indy really well. I know guys older than him who can kick my butt all day on the ski slopes, so Indy as a dude my dad’s age works for me.

Ya know what? God Bless Him!!!! If he wants to keep doing it…and he’s having a good time…why not? I think its great….who says just because you’re 65 you have to shrivel up and melt away. More power to him…I hope he makes as many more as works for him….I’ll go see him! I still think Sean Connery is awesome …how old is he???????????????

There isn’t any kind of 3-picture deal. This is a one-off thing, and Ford says he’s ‘open to the idea of another one.’

And HELL YES. I’m there opening day. I have NO problem with a character like this one getting older. On fact, it’s really refreshing. If Hollywood was gogint o make Raiders today, they’d cast a 17 year old punk and claim he was ‘ex-special forces’ or some such silly crap.

And actually, I knew a couple of Korean War vets who I worked with a few years back, in a very strenuous job. I was 19, 20 years old, 6′2″, 215, fresh off a basketball team, in the best shape of my life. And when it got busy at this very physical landscaping job during the summer, cutting grass, lifting huge rocks in stone gardens, HARD work, they worked me into the ground…I thought I was gonna die, and they just…kept…going. If you don’t know any old guys that are hardasses, you don’t know enough old guys.

The story is set in the 50’s. You don’t seem to know too much about history but by that time there weren’t any Nazis around anymore. I guess Dr. Jones will have to fight someone else.

No, I don’t want to see that. You are completely right. Stars would keep our respect better if they didn’t try to hang onto a “young” part long after they are believable. Jimmy Stewart, who was totally beloved and respected, acted his age. Others should follow his example.
